關於華美國際美國學校 Asia American International Academy
2016年成立坐落於林口，新北市華美國際美國學校(簡稱新北美國學校)，是新北市第一所美國學校，經美國在台協會函轉中華民國外交部，經新北市政府教育局核准籌設。申請就讀新北美國學校的學生，須持有外國籍護照，學生除英文外，需修習第二外國語。新北美國學校是一所小班小校的完全中學，2016僅招收6年級到10年級學生，每班僅24名學生，名額非常有限。2017年加收11年級、2018加收12年級。
新北美國學校採美國加州學制，加州學制係以嚴謹與多元著稱，州政府訂有共同核心標準與執行方案，以學生為中心，除教師的參與外，家長與教育行政人員亦參與協助，讓學生的學習融入社區，以追求優質的大學教育。新北美國學校的教學屬菁英教育，注重學生差異與思辨教育，加強學生除了專業學術之外的生活專長，以學生特長為依據加強邏輯與寫作訓練，著重美國大學的銜接，學生畢業後，能順利申請美國一流大學。
社區服務畢業要求，學生必須在他們高中四年的執行至少30小時的社區服務，培養孩子對於造福社會且進一步的啟發道德與倫理正向思考。
About AAIA:
School founder Allan Liang sought to address the lack of international educational opportunity amongst New Taipei City residents and began coordination with the Ministry of Education and the New Taipei City Bureau of Education. In November 2014 the school was granted a founding license and approval to move forward on planning the construction of New Taipei City’s first international American curriculum school: Asia American International Academy (AAIA).
AAIA seeks to prepare students for post-secondary overseas studies. The school will offer career guidance to this end and provide a complete internal mechanism to assist students in successfully completing the application process for first-class universities in the United States of America and Canada.
AAIA firmly believes and practices the idea that the best teachers inspire students to discover the teacher within in order to maximize higher-order learning across all disciplines. Evidence of our pedagogical philosophy is found within our daily instruction, curriculum maps, and cocurricular program where students are consistently motivated, engaged, challenged, and assessed at all levels on Bloom’s Taxonomy in inquiry-based, independent and cooperative learning environments. As Benjamin Franklin said, “Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.” By diligently striving to discover answers, create solutions, and formulate new questions, you will develop confidence, intelligence, and awareness. Our passionate and experienced teachers will then challenge and motivate our students to use their newly acquired gifts of knowledge and skills to better themselves, the community, and the world at large.
